The Mazda 5 was prefaced first time in 2006. In that year, the top-lined Grand Touring model was not provided. During 2008 development, the Mazda 5 got a new center control panel and rear and front styling.
In 2008, electroluminescent gauges were equipped, along with rear-seat air controls and vents, an auxiliary audio jack, and extra flip-down armrests.
First Generation (2004—Present)

In Japan and Europe, small minivans had been famous, as the families had to cope up with high fuel prices, and limited parking on narrow streets. The Mazda 5 satisfied all these qualities and became one of the superior options in compact minivan division. It was considerably smaller than the other minivans in the automobile market. It had the seating capacity of six passengers, and came along with sporty handling and dashing looks.
Highlights of Current Mazda5 Models

The present generation Mazda 5 is a compact minivan designed with sliding doors, which can accommodate six members. It is produced in trims such as top-lined Grand Touring, midlevel touring, and base Sport.
The Sport trim is included with ABS, 17-inch alloys, automatic climate regulate along with rear-seat regulates, a 6-speaker stereo, an auxiliary audio jack, full power accessories, and a telescoping and tilt steering wheel.
The Touring model includes a CD changer, a sunroof, and leather covered steering wheel.
The features incorporated in the Grand Touring model are
• xenon headlights,
• leather upholstery,
• automatic wipers,
• Bluetooth, and
• heated front seats.
Grand touring and Touring models come with a voice-regulated touch screen navigation system too. A stability control, full-length head-protecting side curtain airbags, and front seat side airbags are some of the important safety equipments provided in the vehicle.
Mazda 5 has a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that can generate
• 148 pound-feet of torque and
• 153 horsepower.
The engine works in sync with a standard 5-speed manual transmission.
The passengers in the second row gain a lot of headroom and legroom, but the 3rd row is very congested and suitable for only small children. The front seats are very comfortable, but are not flexible to slide back.
Sometimes, it is observed that the Mazda 5 is underpowered during long trips. Even though it is loaded with an efficient engine, the car doesn’t move very swiftly at higher speeds. The 4-cylinder base engine produces unremarkable fuel economy, though the overall fuel economy is higher than other minivan’s with V6 engines. On the positive side, the Mazda 5 has easy driving settings.
